Law360, New York (November 24, 2015, 6:28 PM ET) – A former Kaye Scholer LLP green energy finance partner who advises private equity investors and others on power generation projects has joined Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP as a partner in the firm’s New York office.

Madeleine M.L. Tan’s recent focus has been on renewables, such as helping the Maryland Public Service Commission develop a regulatory framework for offshore wind development, but she said that the move to Sutherland, which the firm announced on Nov. 17, gives her a chance to expand her practice into a broader range of energy sources.

Tan told Law360 on Monday that the shift in her focus comes from seeing her clients looking to broaden their infrastructure investments beyond green energy.

“So in some ways, I’m following my clients,” she said.

Before the move to Sutherland, Tan led the project development and finance practice in the New York office of Kaye Scholer, where she had been since 2008.
